In 2001, native Norwegian Maria Mena became a teen sign language sensation when her single "My Lullaby" blew up in that nation on ringtone and radio set. More singles followed, as did the hot-selling album Some other Phase, and Mena's street credibility scatter end-to-end Europe. By 2004 Mena was 18, and ready to take her dark-eyed glamour and smooth, faintly-alternative pop (aided in trade by Norwegian songwriter/producer Arvid Solvang) on to the international stage. As crazy as the spear sounded, direct-to-audience marketing of this type had been successfully introducing stripling pop stars from the hair spray years of Tiffany to the neckties and scowls of Avril Lavigne. White Turns Blue, Mena's full-length domestic debut, dropped in July 2004. It featured slightly tweaked tracks from Mena's European output, and put a point on her seasonable U.S. pop takeover.

Gwyneth Paltrow - Paltrow Struggled To Lose Post-baby Weight

Actress GWYNETH PALTROW hated her post-pregnancy figure following the birth of her son MOSES, and struggled for months to rid her body of the extra baby weight.

The Iron Man beauty gave birth to her second child with Coldplay rocker Chris Martin in April 2006, but she admits she faced a hard battle to regain her slender figure after her son was born.

In a candid interview with V magazine, Paltrow reveals, "I didn't mind the big boobs. But I hated the stomach roll, the back fat and the post-pregnant butt. And it was so hard to get rid of. Especially the final 20 pounds (nine kilograms)."

She insists she felt far from the Hollywood beauty she is often pictured as: "I had milk dripping out of my boobs - it (being an actress) seemed like a fairy tale."

And Paltrow confesses her pregnancy cravings for junk food prompted her to ditch her strict macrobiotic diet.

She adds, "I wanted French fries, grilled cheese and yoghurt, so it kind of went out the window. I couldn't look at brown rice - it made me throw up."

Lindsay Lohan - Ronson Counter-sues Lawyers

LINDSAY LOHAN's close friend SAMANTHA RONSON has filed a lawsuit against her former attorneys, after the firm sued her for unpaid legal fees.

Law firm Davis + Gilbert filed suit against the DJ in December (07) alleging they were never paid for helping her fight and lose a lawsuit against celebrity blogger Perez Hilton - after he accused her of being the owner of cocaine found in Lohan's car following the actress' car accident in Los Angeles in May (07).

They claimed she owed them $165,000 (GBP82,500), according to TMZ.com.

But Ronson is now fighting back, launching her own lawsuit against the company - accusing the lawyers of grossly overcharging her for their services.

The 30-year-old claims she received one invoice for $99,000 (GBP49,500) for a two-month period, even though she claims the firm said the entire case would not cost more than $75,000 (GBP37,500). She also accuses the firm of not fighting her case against Hilton properly - citing a conflict of interest over the unpaid fees.

Ronson has also relaunched her lawsuit against Hilton with a new attorney. The original case was thrown out of court in November (07) and Ronson was ordered to pay the celebrity blogger almost $85,000 (GBP42,500) in fees.

Mel B admits to treating Geri badly

Spice Girls star Mel B has admitted that she treated her bandmate Geri Halliwell badly when the group first got together.
In an interview with Grazia magazine, Mel B said she was tough on Halliwell when she failed to master some of the more difficult dance routines.
The singer said: "If Geri gets her dancing wrong now I tell her. But in the old days I may have done it in a bitchy way, but it's much more sisterly now. I want her to look fantastic and get it right."
"Everybody knows that Geri and I have had our problems in the past, but having time apart and then coming back together has been incredibly healing," she said.
"We have a real bond and, amazingly, our daughters, Angel and Bluebell, are completely fascinated by each other," said the singer.
Mel B also said that Halliwell encouraged her to take part in 'Dancing with the Stars', saying: "I wanted to show everyone what I could do. I talked to Geri and she was right behind me, telling me to go for it and knock everybody dead."
